If you are using WindowsXP with Service Pack 2 and are having trouble connecting to your website via FTP, chances are that the new firewall in Service Pack 2 must be configured to allow you to connect with FTP.

The common behavior you will see is that you can connect, but very slowly and may not see your file and folder listings on the remote site. To test this, disable your WindowsXP firewall and reconnect. If it works, you will have to adjust your firewall settings. Since every computer is differnent, your firewall settings will vary.
