Many may ask as to why they need an SSL certificate. You only need an SSL certificate if you wish to secure any area of your website. For example, you may have an online form in which sensitive information is being entered. To give your clients piece of mind, you should have this area secure.
Another scenario is if you have a shopping cart. Normally, if you use Compuweb's Cart32 services, your cart is secured by Compuweb's own SSL. However, you may want your cart to use your own domain name in the URL title bar. In this case you may want to get your own SSL Certificate and have your cart use a name such as cart.yourdomain.com.
SSL's generally are not need for simply viewing a website, but only if data is being transmitted from your website that you feel is sensitive.
